Pointing - not touching!

It is so hard not to press buttons... Amie points out she is 'pointing' - not touching!

The Somersault

Amie has just learned how to do a somersault! It's funny watching her and seeing how much work it takes to get this feat just right.

The Hirschfeld Visit

Cathy & Gord and the kids visited us 2 weekends ago. It was so great to see them and for Amie to see her cousins and Auntie and Uncle again! She has graduated from calling Gord "Uncie Dord" to Uncle Gord now. We stayed up till after 2 am the first night they arrived - which was way past my bedtime! I think it took me the rest of the week to catch up :)

Amie is wearing the very cute new outfit from the Hirschfelds for her birthday!

James & Amie had a bubble bath together on Saturday night. They had lots of fun playing, and at the end James stood up and Cathy said "are you going to pee?". He didn't, but afterwards, Mike asked Amie if she had fun in the tub with James and apparently the highlight of that was "He Peed!"

James gives Amie a great big hug.

What a cutie!

Head & Shoulders

This video was so cute of Amie singing Head & Shoulders, Knees & Toes.

Jayde's Birthday Party

On Saturday, we went to a birthday party for Amie's friend, Jayde. It was at Let's Play. Amie had so much fun, and we were able to give Jayde one of the robes I made earlier.
The carousel was a big hit and there was a wait to get on it.
Delicious chocolate cupcakes.

They had a separate area for kids 3 and under, which was good. It's funny, there is so much appeal to jump in a big bunch of balls!

Amie has been a bit obsessed with the moon, and has to look out the window most nights to see it. Last night she chanted, 'moon in the man, moon in the man' until we went to see it.

We spent an hour stamping this morning! So happy to have a girl :) Last time we were in the craft room with the radio on we had jelly beans. As soon as I turned on the radio she said she needed 'black beans', but finally remembered 'jelly beans'. That kid doesn't forget anything!

A while ago, when we started saying her prayers before bed, I would say 'Dear God, thank you for...' and wait for her to say something. One night she said, 'for you', it was so sweet, and reminded me of how blessed I am.
The Purple Nope Amie is always pretending things are something different. Today, she ran around with a Polly Pocket umbrella handle, and called it the 'Purple Nope'. We're not quite sure what a nope is, but she definitely had fun with it!

We had some recent birthdays and I wanted to make something special and had a few extra minutes :) so decided to make these 2 robes. I was quite pleased with how they turned out and it was nice to do some sewing again.

Amie is a crafty kid and had a blast when I let her play with the glue. I think we used half a bottle on this project.

I just love those curls!

The last few months Amie has definitely developed her own opinions, actually she's always been headstrong. She does the funniest things every day, so I figured I needed to keep track of them or I'll forget.
She is relentless when she wants something and the other evening she kept on asking and I finally said "N O means no", spelling no. We've also worked on some spelling in the past, things like MOM and DAD. So, the next night Mike asks her to do something she doesn't want to do and she says "no, M..O..M!"
Yesterday, we watched Sesame Street, and they have a muppet, Murray and his little lamb, on the show. The lamb only speaks on Spanish and Murray always has to figure out what he's talking about. Yesterday, it was a ball the lamb was talking about. So Murray says, "oh, that's a ball in Spanish". Amie looks around, grabs her ball, and says proudly - "it's a spinish!"

2 Years Old!! - Jan 31, 2009

I can't believe my baby is 2! The time has gone by so quickly and she has changed so much. We had a fun day on Saturday. In the morning we gave Amie gifts from us. She actually opened the card first! That's my girl xo

On Sunday, Jann, Jim, Sydney & Steph came over for supper. We had ham that Mike roasted on the BBQ, scalloped potatoes, vegetarian stuffed peppers for Steph, squash and carrots. Amie was very excited to sit in her high chair again. She called it the 'big booster seat'.

and of course, we had carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese icing for desert. Amie actually blew out her candle this time! She didn't eat the cake, but licked all the icing off it.

Afterwards, Amie opened her gifts. She loves her Polly Pockets and her little pony and doll set!

The next day she got a really cute new outfit from Grandma Mar and a Little People set. She was definitely spoiled this year, and thanks everyone who made her birthday so special!

Amie's Birthday Party - January 25/09

We had a combined birthday party for Anderson Kelly, Kiera Fleming, and Amie, as Anderson and Kiera's birthdays are Jan.26 and Amie's is Jan.31. We went to Sip & Safari, a coffee house and playroom. The kids had so much fun and it was great to see everyone. We waited until we got home to open gifts. Amie received many wonderful gifts and she is enjoying playing with them all!
