Easter 2008

Amie is wearing a little dress with bunnies that Sydney wore when she was little!

We went to Auntie Jann's and Uncle Jim's for Easter this year. Amie wasn't yet into eating chocolate, so the Easter bunny had some fun toys in her basket. Sydney got some cool stuff too, and we had a wonderful Easter dinner!!

Auntie Jann & Sydney

Wow, it's been so long since I got around to posting! I've been busy studying for my mortgage associate exam, which I have now passed. We also had some camera problems and had to get a new one sent from Sony. I also started a new job at the hospital too, so it's been a bit crazy!

Amie had a wonderful birthday though! Anderson shared his birthday party, since he's only a few days older than her, and they mostly have the same friends! We went to Gymboree and the kids loved climbing and crawling around. They got to play with the parachute too and got to take a ride in the tubes. Erin brought really yummy Crave cupcakes and the kids had a great time.

We also had a little party for her at home on her actual birthday with a cake and ice cream. She didn't like the ice cream since it was too cold and she kept sticking her fingers in it and making a funny face. Amie got really lovely gifts from everyone and it was a wonderful First Birthday.

Coffee January 16th

Amie & Will get the toys out.

Faith arrives and Amie & Will practically rip the blankets off her to get her out of the carseat. She was equally enthused to see them.

Amie & Faith have some time for 'girl talk'.

Amie snuggles up to Will - to get her hand in his snack cup! For some reason Amie loves that cup. After Will was finished she crawled around with it on her hand.

Will & Sonia

We had a lovely coffee with lemon cupcakes on Wednesday. Erin had another appointment and Laura had her weekly doctor's appointment so we did miss them. Amie & Will are reaching for everything these days. The stereo playing Barney songs was especially attractive! Faith is getting very good at rolling around to get where she wants to be and is spending lots of time on her hands and knees - I'm sure she'll be crawling soon. It had been a while since we got together so it was really nice to see the girls and spend some time in adult conversation!

The Dress my Grandmother Made

Amie's Grandmother Pasieka made this beautiful knitted dress and sweater set. It fits her perfectly and she looks like such a doll in it.

Those Darn Socks

It's amazing how quickly socks can fall off, and how hard they can be to put back on!
" Maybe they'll go on my head then...."

11 months

I can brush my teeth, sort of...
She's got the wrong end in her mouth, but she gets the idea!

My new car seat.
Amie was getting too long for her infant seat so off to the store we went looking for a new one. She's only 18 lbs and she can't forward face yet so we had to get a 3-in-1 seat. I think she'll enjoy it when she can turn around and see what's going on, but that's not till 22 lbs - which may be another 6 months!

Caught red-handed!

That's a guilty look if I ever saw one. Funny how yarn can be so entertaining!

Playtime

One of those rare moments when Amie is entertaining herself.

Cheerio-io!

So cute!

It's hard to believe 11 months have gone by already. Amie has changed so much. She is starting to mimic words and sounds we say. She can now say Mom, Dad, Santa (pronounced 'danta'), doggie, hi, yeah, and baby. She whispers be-be into the mirror everytime she hears herself. Oh, and she did say 'dolly' the other day but I haven't been able to get her to say it again! She tries to copy animal sounds (Mike's good at those) like Moo, cock-a-doodle-doo, ruff-ruff.

Yesterday she took her first step on her own! She's been standing alone for a few seconds at a time and when I set her down on the floor she stood still for 10 seconds and then took one step. Yay Amie!

She sure loves her dad. When he comes home from work he usually has to go to the basement to do a bit of paperwork and she yells at the top of the stairs 'hey dad' until he comes up.

We've sure been having fun. I really feel blessed that I am able to stay home with Amie. We have signed up for some more swimming, which she absolutely loves, and a playgroup - more so that I don't go a little crazy and get to talk to a few more adults!

Elvis has not left the building!

Amie has just recently begun to notice music. She bops and waves her arms and does some kind of Elvis-like impersonation with her leg when she hears music now. She especially loves 3 children's cd's we have, which we play over and over - sometimes those songs seem like they're driving me mental when I catch myself humming them all during the day!

Funny Kid!!

Amie is such a ham in front of the camera, and her hair has begun to get quite curly lately, resulting in some funny bedhead shots! I had to include these funny face and bad hair day photos...

The Biro's

We had a little visit (actually before Christmas) with Sonia, Paul & Will. It is always so great to see them! Will and Amie enjoy playing together - and taking each others toys.

Christmas Dinner at Jann's

Christmas dinner

Jann demo's how to kick butt in boxing - watch out Jim!
Gifts!

For Christmas dinner we arrived at Jann's where Ginny, Jann & Jim had prepared an amazing Christmas dinner! Bill (Jim's dad), Nicole (Jim's sister) and Sydney were also there, of course. We were all sooo full after eating! Unfortunately I was having 'baby brain' that day (apparently you can still have that almost a year later!) and forgot Amie's baby food and high chair and the tray of sweets in my fridge for dessert. Thank goodness Ginny saved the day with cheesecake and Amie loved Christmas dinner veges and a few crackers. Jann gave us a great demo of how to play the Nintendo Wii which they got for Christmas - I wouldn't want to go up against her! Though I did get a KO in boxing against Sydney - sorry Sydney. Mike and I were sore for the next three days after playing that! We exchanged gifts after dinner and received very lovely presents from everyone. Amie loved her Noah's ark set and peek-a-boo book.

Christmas Morning 2007

Amie opens her 'Brown Bear' book and new clothes from Auntie Belinda and Christian.

Amie's new ride on Winnie the Pooh toy. Lots of music and buttons!
It's like a toy city.
And a new outfit from friend, Will - fits perfectly.
On Christmas morning Amie was up bright and early as always! She opened a couple of her gifts and had breakfast - blueberry pancakes - and then went back to bed for a nap and opened the rest of her stuff when she woke up. Thanks so much to everyone who gave her a gift. She loved all her presents and even though she wasn't sure about the tearing paper idea (not that she's opposed to tearing paper) she did get the hang of it and had lots of fun.

Amie gets very excited when she finds a 'my first Christmas' ornament in her stocking!
