Amie's Birthday Party - January 25/09

We had a combined birthday party for Anderson Kelly, Kiera Fleming, and Amie, as Anderson and Kiera's birthdays are Jan.26 and Amie's is Jan.31. We went to Sip & Safari, a coffee house and playroom. The kids had so much fun and it was great to see everyone. We waited until we got home to open gifts. Amie received many wonderful gifts and she is enjoying playing with them all!

A playset with an iron, teakettle and accessories.

A ball tent.

A Crayola set with scented and erasable crayons, markers and color pencils in a tote.

A cash register with plastic coins.

Also, Amie received a book and season pass to Butterfield Acres. We are really close to there and plan to go quite a bit this summer.

Christmas Day 2008

We went to Jann's in the afternoon for dinner and gift exchange there. Ginny, Nicole, Jim, Jann, Sydney, Steph and her friend, Brad, were all there.

Opening gifts after supper.

Amazing supper!

Sydney & Amie

Breakfast Christmas morning. We had eggs Benedict.

Steph helps Amie with Mr. Potato Head.

Amie likes Mr. Potato Heads glasses the best!

Amie finds her chocolate Santa in her stocking.

Santa brought a fun new kitchen. Amie's cooking up a storm already!

Christmas Eve 2008

We met Jann & Jim & Sydney at Westside Church for the candlelight service. There was a petting zoo there this year and Amie and Sydney enjoyed patting the sheep, goats, and bunnies. Afterwards, we picked up Steph and brought her to our place and had some snacks and opened one gift each, and then we watched a movie after Amie went to bed.

Christmastime 2008

I was very surprised, but Amie said she wanted to see Santa when we went to the mall. She actually sat on his knee - eyeing the candy canes the whole time!

Amie loves helping me bake - so here she is doing some mixing. She even pretends she's baking when she's playing - usually adding 2 cups of mella (vanilla) and some cinnamon. (I never add 2 cups of vanilla!)

We got out to the zoo just before Christmas, before the cold snap hit to see "Zoo Lights". We rented a wagon there and bundled Amie all up and had a really great time!

We found a stocking hat for Amie and got some really cute pics. This one we used on our Christmas cards.

December 2008

This was one of the first snows. We got all bundled up and went outside to make a snowman. It was nice wet, packy snow so it was perfect. We gave him a carrot nose and mini-wheat eyes! It was one of the first times Amie reallly enjoyed going out to play in the snow.

Amie is starting to make her own clothing choices. Today it was her bathrobe and a too-small sunhat. She danced around in it all morning. At least we didn't have to leave the house!

Steph, Amie and I decorated a gingerbread house. I don't know how they make it look so perfect on the box! but it did turn out very cute and Steph was an excellent gumball & icing placer.

Amie does some cookie decorating of her own. She ended up just licking the icing off afterwards.

Amie did some coloring when I started setting up the Christmas tree. Surprisingly, she helped with some ornaments and loved looking in the boxes, but let me set up the tree in peace!

Sept 2008

We went to Sask for Mike's high school reunion. It's funny we hardly have any pics anymore of just us together. It's usually one of us taking pics of Amie and the other parent!

We walked along the riverbank in P.A., Mike's hometown.

We had dinner with Granny & Grandpa Dean. Amie calls her Nanny.

Amie and her cousin, James playing piano.

At the Kelly's for a Sept BBQ, Amie and Faith peek out the window.

It was such a nice Sept day the kids got to play in the Kelly's backyard in the sprinklers. I scrapbooked a pic of this and Amie recently looked at it and said "Anderson". That kid doesn't forget anything!

I have put off blogging for so long! It is just one more thing I never seem to have time to do. However, everyday Amie says or does something so cute, that I really have to start recording it. So here's my attempt to start a weekly at least blog! This video is back from Sept, but it was too cute not to post. She's reading some new books from her Grammy P. - she loves books - and then started singing Twinkle Twinkle.
