Fall in Calgary

Fall comes so quick in Calgary! One minute the trees are green, the next they've turned beautiful fall colours and then the trees are bare!

We went to one of the local farmers markets on Sunday with Amie's cousin, Sydney, and snapped a couple pics. We've had a beautiful September, with some 25 degree temps, but the last few days have definitely turned cold and, gasp, we even had snow flurries this evening!

9 months!

Erica is 9 months today!! Wow! Where did the time go??! She sure is cute ;) and is surprising us everyday with new things. She is now sitting up by herself to play with her toys, can roll across the floor both ways easily, is eating chunky food, can grasp a piece of food and put it in her mouth, can clap, wave, nod her head and splash and loves blowing raspberries. I'm sure she'll be crawling soon - she's getting up on her hands and knees. She likes toys and books, any kitchen utensil, and plastic water bottles. She still dislikes her car seat and doesn't like wearing hats or adults other than her family! She loves Amie and they get each other laughing!

Amie's loving Kindergarten and has made lots of new friends She's so excited, but I can't help feeling a little sad. She's grown so quickly!

Craft Studio App

Since I am missing crafting/scrapbooking due to the new baby and our recent move I thought I'd try out the Martha Stewart Craft Studio app for the iPad. It is great! It comes with 4 sets of coordinated papers, stamps, paper punches, stickers, glitter and text in different themes that can be mixed and matched. You can also purchase other themes if you wish. Your creation can be uploaded to Facebook, printed with Snapfish, saved in your photos or emailed.

It was nice to have a little crafty fix!

Camping

For our second camping trip of the year we went to Brewers campground at Aspen Beach with the Mullens and the Cuthills. Steph and Sean came for Saturday night too! It's so nice there with lots of trees, and the beach is great! The kids had an awesome time playing and riding their bikes. We stayed an extra day, but it was rainy. We still had a good time though relaxing and reading.

Edmonton

A few weeks ago we made the trek to Edmonton since grandma Mar was there visiting and it was closer than going to Sask. even though it's only 3 hours away it took us quite a bit longer because Erica does not like her car seat! We went to Auntie Debbie's for supper and got to see Auntie Karen and Jake too, and Amie got to slip 'n slide and play golf in the backyard. Sunday we went to the farmers market and Galaxy Land at West Ed Mall and tried some yummy sandwiches that Mike's cousin's husband was featuring to promote his new food truck.

6 Months!

I cannot believe Erics is 6 months old already! Time is flying like crazy. She's such a cutie pie :). Amie is so good with her and Erica's face lights up whenever she sees Amie.

Erica is eating solids now and definitely prefers sweet potatoes and pears over peas and beans. She is rolling over lots, and it's fun to see her playing with her toys and sticking her tongue out to make funny sounds. Her little feet are so chubby I can't get her sandals on.

Mothers Day

Mothers' Day weekend we went camping in Drumheller - our first camping trip of the year and Erica's first one ever! It went better than expected, though I did spend a lot of time in the camper; feeding, changing, and getting Erica to sleep. We went with 3 other lovely families and Amie had a blast riding her bike and hanging out with the other kids. On Mothers' Day the weather was beautiful and we went to the outdoor spray park and saw lots of dino statues around town. Then we went out for supper at BP's. Later after the kids were asleep we had a campfire and I even got to read a magazine on the iPad! It was a great day and now I get to use the gift certificates for Kobo and Old Navy!

Amie's preschool class had a really cute presentation for the moms on the Friday before the weekend.   All the kids made a special place mat and a card with tissue flowers and had a marigold in a pot they decorated to give to their moms.  They also served iced tea and cookies and sang some very special songs.  I'm so happy to be a mom!
