We spent the morning at the Calgary Farmers Market and had lunch. Sushi for Amie, hot dog for Erica, Greek salad for mike and my fav, tortilla soup from Los Chilitos. So good! We got a strawberry rhubarb pie for the way out and an Americana Misto.

Winter Day at the Park
It is so beautiful out today - so we had to make sure to get outdoors to play! We went to South Glenmore park. There was still lots of snow on the ground, but the sun was nice and warm.

Thanksgiving 2013
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend - the weather was lovely - and we got to share a wonderful meal with Steph, Sean, Jann and Sydney. Fall always comes and goes sooo quick here, so we popped outside to take a few pics.
So much to be thankful for!

Amie rides a bike!
We've been meaning to get Amie out to practice riding her 2-wheeler forever and we finally made it to the park last week. I held her up while she peddled on the sidewalk the way there so she could practice on the grass. The first time Mike ran along with the bike she started peddling herself and balanced like a pro! Now if the rain lets up we can get back out and keep practicing.
Erica enjoys the show on her fancy new tricycle!
So proud!

March 2013
Wow, time is flying! Can't believe April is here already. Steph turned 25 on her birthday the end of March, and she recently announced her engagement!
Amie is getting so tall and lanky! She also has to question everything and everyone, which is frustrating, but she is very funny and has a good sense of humour! She's all about making forts - Mike just put up a tent in the living room so we could finally put the chairs back at the table to eat supper. She also loves Lego Friends and her iPad. Her reading is amazing and she has a reading log from school now to keep track of the books she reads. She brings home 3 books a week, but refuses to read them more than once - good thing she has lots of her own books!
Erica at 15 months now has changed so much; she is starting to repeat sounds and words, she'll say please, cheese, peek - which all sound the same - LOL, bubbles, moo, ruff, mom, dad, hi, hot, A for Amie, dup means yes. She'll roar for a lion, hoo for an owl and do a high pitched noise for a cat and say brum for a car. She loves music and loves dancing with Amie. She'll clap and bop up and down and spin in circles. Erica also loves to run now, which for her is really just walking fast, but she's very proud of herself. She is also quite a comedian and won't stop if she can get a laugh. She loves to tease and pretend she's giving you something and then pull it away at the last minute or say no she doesn't want to go me if Mike is holding her.
Erica's hair is getting longer and is curly when it's wet, so it will be interesting to see if it is as curly as Amie's. Amie's hair is getting quite long now so sometimes it looks a lot straighter, but if she's jumping around or there's any humidity the curls pop out!
Erica loves to do what Amie is doing whether that is colouring with markers or playing with playdough. She actually holds a crayon perfectly and can feed herself with a fork or spoon, which she insists upon doing by herself!

Our weekend
This weekend Amie's Sparks group went to camp, but since Amie didn't go we had our own camp here on Saturday. She invited her friends, Reid and Skye over to play and they did crafts and then played out in the yard and roasted marshmallows to make S'mores.
We went out to supper tonight to Boston Pizza at Cross Iron Mills for Mike's birthday. Erica actually did quite well - usually it is a nightmare and we stopped eating out for a while. It could have something to do with us sitting down at 4 pm- the only other people at that time are seniors and other people with kids! She is also enjoying colouring now and dipping things in ketchup, so that allowed us to finish our meals.
Erica is enjoying a whole new world walking around at the mall. She stops to look at people and things and does not want to be picked up, which makes for a long trip walking through the mall. She also has the scream and back arch, with a limp body, perfected when forced to do anything.
Our Sunday started out with breakfast from McDonalds, a trip to Amie's school playground to meet friends and have a little play in the park and then home for Mike and Erica to have a little nap. Then we headed out for a quick trip to the mall. All in all a busy day for us!

January 2013
Well, Amie is now 6 years old !! And Erica is 13 months! Where does the time go? I feel like the weeks just fly by and I definitely had a moment of feeling like Amie, especially, is growing up way too quick.
Amie is doing a Zoomba dance class along with Sparks now and is really enjoying both activities. We have been busy having playdates and just doing day to day stuff. Steph got Amie a Just Dance game for the Wii and she's been dancing up a storm! We've seen Jann and Syd the last couple weekends and had a crafty Sunday last weekend, which was really fun.
Erica is walking like crazy and saying some words: mom, dad, hi, bye, ya, no, and ruff (for a dog), which actually sounds like fa, which reminds me of Steph :) She loves mike and reaches her hands out to him as soon as she sees him. She also loves to tease and pretends to give something, but pulls it away at the last second or reaches out to me when Mike's holding her and then laughs and shakes her head no when I try to take her.
Steph just got engaged this weekend and has a beautiful ring. She's very happy and it looks like they'll be heading off to a destination wedding in a couple years!
The weather has been nicer this past week and I'm feeling anxious for springtime!

Baking Cookies
Amie and I made sugar cookies last week. We found a really yummy recipe.
Then, we made Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies, which were very good as well!
